Answer to Calolo

Calolo, thanks for your comments about our blog. Personally I prefer Montañita, but as we all have different tastes I am going to point out the stronger points of both towns:

Montañita: has the best waves to surf; near to it there are several towns one could visit (what we call the Sun Route); with Guayaquil-Salinas highway open, half the way is going to be safer and without problems; more tourist attractions; and better infrastructure to receive people in new year’s eve.

Canoa: less people visit it, making it quieter; some say Manabí’s women are the prettiest of the country; surrounding beaches are desolated making them more relaxing.

Something I have to point out: the people in both places are friendly and respect your own space.

Finally, Montañita is closer to Guayaquil (but farther to
Quito) than Canoa, so it could depend from where you are departing.

Calolo, gracias por tu comentario sobre nuestro blog. En lo personal me gusta más Montañita, pero como no todos tenemos los gustos iguales ahí van ciertos puntos fuertes de cada pueblo:

Montañita: tiene mejores olas para surfear, cerca hay varios pueblos que se pueden visitar (lo que llamamos Ruta del Sol); con la vía Guayaquil Salinas ampliada; la mitad del camino es tranquila y segura; más actividades turísticas; y tiene mejor infraestructura para recibir a la gente en fin de año.

Canoa: va menos gente, por lo que es mucho más tranquilo; algunos dicen que las mujeres de Manabí son las más lindas del país; las playas cercanas son desoladas y más tranquilas.

Algo que debo decir, es que la gente en ambos lugares es muy amable y respeta el espacio de las demás personas.

Por último, Montañita queda más cerca de Guayaquil (pero más lejos de Quito) que Canoa, así que podría depender un poco desde donde salgas.
