Ayangue

Ayangue is a small coastal town located in “La Ruta del Sol”( The Sun Route), approximately 2 hours from Guayaquil, before montañita. The sea is very calm, excellent place to visit if you are travelling with children, where they will be able to play without fear of the currents or the waves.

It is the perfect place to spend the day. You will be able to enjoy a calm and quiet beach, most of the year. We do not recommend visiting it during the holidays of Carnival and Easter, when it is fully crowded.

Here you will be able to see artisanal fishing, which allows villagers to offer a great variety of excellent fresh seafood that pleases everyone.

Between December and May it is the beach season, it is very sunny and the temperature of the water is 80 Fahrenheit degrees. The rest of the year the sky partially cloudy and the temperature of the water 70 Fahrenheit degrees.

On a 20 minutes ride from the beach you wild find “El Pelado”. El Pelado is a small island known by the facilities that offer to divers and by its varied marine life. There is possible to find turtles, lobsters, octopuses, among others.

Ayangue

Ayangue es un pequeño pueblo costero ubicado en la ruta del sol, aproximadamente a 2 horas de Guayaquil, antes de llegar a montañita. El mar es muy tranquilo, excelente lugar para visitar si se viaja con niños pequeños donde ellos podrán jugar sin temor de las corrientes o las olas.

Es el lugar perfecto para pasar el día. Usted podrá disfrutar de una playa tranquila y silenciosa, la mayoría del año. No es recomendable visitarla durante los feriados de carnaval y Semana Santa, que es cuando se llena completamente de gente.

Aquí podrá ver como se realiza la pesca artesanal lo que permite que sus puestos de comida ofrezcan una gran variedad de excelentes platos de mariscos frescos que gustan a todo el que los prueba.

Entre Diciembre y Mayo es la temporada de playa, donde se tiene mucho sol y la temperatura del agua se encuentra alrededor de los 80 grados Fahrenheit. El resto del año el cielo queda parcialmente nublado y la temperatura del agua baja a los 70 grados Fahrenheit.

A 20 minutos de la playa nos encontramos con “El Pelado”. El pelado es un islote conocido por las facilidades que brinda para bucear y por su variada vida marina. Allí se pueden encontrar tortugas, langostas, pulpos, entre otros.

Last Min.: Baños Road Blocked

The Road Ambato-Baños-Puyo is blocked since yesterday at 11am GMT (4pm local time); there are two problems:

1) 3 lahars in Bilbao, Bascun and Juive (near Baños). Authorities warn not to try to cross over the mud and to wait 72 hrs until the rain is expected to end.

2) Baños “live forces” blocked the road “indefinetely” to put some preasure on the government to condone debts and help the local economy, affected for the Eruption process of Tuhgurahua volcano that started in 1999 and bursted this year in july and august.

Ultima Hora: Caminos a Baños Bloqueados

Noviembre 15, 2006. 2pm GMT

El carretero Ambato-Baños-Puyo esta bloqueado desde ayer a las 11am GMT (4pm hora local); hay dos problemas:

1) 3 lahares en Bilbao, Bascun y Juive (cerca de Baños). Las autoridades advierten no tratar de cruzar sobre el lodo y esperar unas 72 hrs en que se estima cesarán las lluvias.

2) Las fuerzas vivas de Baños han bloqueado indefinidamente la carretera para poner presión sobre el gobierno a condonar deudas y ayudar a la economía local, afectada por el proceso eruptivo del volcán Tungurahua, iniciado en 1999 y que tuvo dos erupciones en julio y agosto de este año.

The Church of The Balbanera

Near the lagoon of Colta is the church of Balbanera. It was constructed in 1534 in Colta, of the Province of Chimborazo, to 18 kilometers of Riobamba. It is said was the first Christian church constructed by the Spaniards in Ecuador

When they constructed it was not a construction like the present one, but of it marinates and stone covered with straw. The original construction was destroyed by the earthquake of 1.797

Iglesia la Balbanera

Cerca de la laguna de Colta se encuentra la iglesia de Balbanera. Fue construida en 1534 en el cantón Colta, de la Provincia de Chimborazo, a 18 kilómetros de Riobamba. Se dice fue la primera iglesia cristiana construida por los españoles en el Ecuador

Cuando la construyeron no era una construcción como la actual, sino de adobe y piedra cubierta de paja. La construcción original fue destruida por el terremoto de 1.797
